My faith is extremely important to me.
I was brought up as a Christian, but I would say I became a true believer in college. And my faith further developed another seven or so years later, when I found out I was pregnant.
There is an enormous amount of responsibility that comes over you when you realise you're about to be someone's mama! And, for me, that was also the point when I realised that I needed to depend on God a lot more, and cast my cares and worries onto Him. When you're pregnant, your emotions and mood really can impact the baby, so it's crucial to be calm. Anxiety and worry affect how we behave, and can cause real physical symptoms.
So mamas, here are ten of my favourite scriptures that pulled me through – and are still pulling me through! "Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation]." Isaiah 41:10
"I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears." Psalm 34:4
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
"The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe." Proverbs 18:10
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, He will teach you all things [...] Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:26-27
